The question ZonMw faces is how to improve disease prevention and health care. One thing is clear: you need a lot of knowledge, and therefore a lot of research. And it is important that people actually use that knowledge. With this in mind, ZonMw funds and promotes research, development and implementation.

The goal of the Prinses Beatrix Spierfonds is to contribute to the treatment of neuromuscular diseases and to improve the quality of life for patients with a neuromuscular disease. The fund finances scientific research for Dutch research institutes.

The Duchenne Parent Project stimulates scientific research. Two types of research grants will be awarded: Operating Grants and Postdoctoral Fellowships.
The applications will be evaluated by a panel of experts (peer review) for scientific merit and relevance. Proposals must be related to research in therapy of Duchenne's muscular dystrophy.
