On the 8th of January 2010 the yearly Prinses Beatrix Fonds Symposium neuromuscular disorders was held with the central theme '10 golden rules for each problem'.
The symposium was a success with attendance of 200 people working on or interested in neuromuscular disorders. During the different presentations, the audiance was able to actively participate in the different discussions by voting for certain answers. At this symposium the prize for the best neuromuscular paper published in 2009 was handed to Susan Mulders for her paper 'Triplet-repeat oligonucleotide-mediated reversal of RNA toxicity in myotonic dystrophy' which was published in PNAS in August 2009. The prize was given to her by Ivo Niehe.
